Experience the Inca Quarry Trek in 4 days from Cusco
Embark on a captivating 4-day journey along the Inca Quarry Trail, one of the most scenic and less-traveled routes to Machu Picchu. This trek offers an incredible blend of adventure, history, and culture, taking you through remote Andean villages, ancient Inca ruins, and breathtaking mountain landscapes. Explore fascinating archaeological sites such as Perolniyoc and the Inca quarries of Cachicata, where massive stones were once carved and transported for the construction of Ollantaytambo. Each day brings a new perspective of the Andes — from lush valleys and cascading waterfalls to high mountain passes with stunning panoramic views. The day concludes at Choquetacarpo, where we will have dinner and rest at the campsite surrounded by a unique environment.
The third day starts with breakfast at Choquetacarpo before continuing the hike to the archaeological site of Cachicata, where you will learn about the ancient quarries used by the Incas. In the afternoon, we will board the panoramic train to Aguas Calientes, a charming town at the foot of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, we will check into the hotel and conclude the day with dinner at a local restaurant, preparing for the visit to the citadel the next day.
The final day of the adventure begins with pickup from the hotel in Aguas Calientes to take the Consetur bus to the Machu Picchu citadel (30-minute ride). Once at the site, we will enjoy a guided tour of approximately 3 hours, exploring the main temples, plazas, and viewpoints of this world wonder.
